Ripple Effect

“Ripple Effect” is the soud of skipping rocks over a calm mountain lake, and the ripples that surge across the surface.

Instrumentation:

Chamber Ensemble

Difficulty:

High School, Collegiate

Duration:

4'00"

“Ripple Effect” is inspired by skipping rocks over a calm mountain lake, and the ripples that surge across the surface. The piece is in minor, to capture the feelings of the person throwing the rocks. In the harp, half steps and glissandos signify the ripples themselves, while the Violin plays the solemn tune of the thrower.
